1. About this policy

Pocket Pedagogy ("we", "us", "our") operates The Map ("the tool"). The Map is a private, password-accessed coaching tool provided free of charge to participants in Pocket Pedagogy's courses. It is designed to collect as little information as possible.

2. What we collect — and what we don't

• No accounts. There is no sign-up. Access is by a shared password provided by Pocket Pedagogy, so we do not collect your name, email or any account details through the tool.
• Your conversations are not retained. What you type is used only to generate a response in the moment. Chats live in your browser window only and are cleared when you close or refresh the page. We do not keep a record of your conversations.
• Never enter identifying details about children. Describe the behaviour, not the child. Do not include names, ages, photos or anything that could identify a child or family.
• Basic technical data — standard, aggregated usage and log data may be processed by our hosting provider to keep the tool running and secure.

3. AI processing

The Map uses a third-party AI provider to generate responses. When you send a message, the text you entered is transmitted to that provider over an encrypted connection for the sole purpose of generating your reply, and is not retained by the provider beyond what is needed to complete your request.

Because nothing you type should identify a child, no identifiable information about children should ever be sent for AI processing. This is why we ask you to describe behaviour only.

4. How the password works

The password is issued by Pocket Pedagogy to course participants. A cookie keeps you signed in on your device for a short period; it contains no personal information. Please don't share the password outside your course group.

5. Your responsibilities

• Describe behaviour in general terms — never a child's name or identifying details.
• Follow your service's own privacy and child-safe policies at all times.
• Remember the tool is for adults working with children; it is not for use by children.
